This week, the GreenDIGIT team had the privilege of contributing to the SC4RC conference (sc4rc.org), held at CERN, Geneva. It was an inspiring gathering of the research infrastructure community, united around a shared goal: making research infrastructures more sustainable. 🌱
We had two highlights:
- Shashikant Ilager, Damla Rowlandson, and Iida Lehto conducted an interactive session presenting concrete tools developed as part of the project, including our impact assessment methodology and metrics publication system.
- Jaime Iglesias Blanco showcased WattNet (wattnet.eu), emphasising the importance of open-source, accurate tooling for estimating the carbon and water footprint of IT workloads.
We are happy to have contributed to the SC4RC program and to be part of a growing community of sustainability in scientific research infrastructures.
