We are excited to announce our contribution in GreenSys workshop on 30th of March 2025. The GreenSys workshop (1st International Workshop on Systems and Methods for Sustainable Large-Scale AI), organized by Shashikant Ilager Assistant Professor at the Informatics Institute (Ivl), University of Amsterdam (UvA). The event fostered dialogue between systems and Artificial Intelligence (AI) researchers for identifing solutions to key sustainability challenges in AI, ensuring a more sustainable future for AI development and deployment.
There, an insightful presentation was given by GreenDIGIT’s coordinator Yuri Demchenko (UvA), and the details of the presentation are given below:
Title: GreenDIGIT: Towards Environmentally Sustainable Research Infrastructures (RIs).
Outline:
- GreenDIGIT project scope and goals
- Shared Responsibility Model for Sustainability
- Sustainability by Design: Infrastructure components and aspects to be addressed
- Standardisation on Environmental Sustainability and technical requirements
- Monitoring and metrics for Energy Efficiency optimisation and Environmental Impact
You can find the presentation here.
GreenDIGIT’s participation in the GreenSys workshop underscores the critical importance of collaborative efforts in advancing sustainable practices within the realm of digital research infrastructures. By sharing insights and fostering discussions on environmental sustainability, GreenDIGIT contributes to the broader goal of mitigating the environmental impact of digital technologies.
