On October 18th, Gergely Sipos, Head of Services, Solutions, and Support at Stichting EGI, delivered an insightful seminar at Seoul National University (SNU). Hosted by Prof. Dr. Jörn Altmann, leader of the IT Services Economics Group within SNU’s College of Engineering, the presentation highlighted a shared vision for reducing the environmental impact of computing.
This talk aligns fully with EGI’s work in the GreenDIGIT EC project, where members CNRS, CSIC, and SZTAKI are developing innovative extensions to computing frameworks that reduce energy consumption in storage, data transfer, and compute operations—all while maintaining high efficiency and scientific output.
This event highlights the significant steps made forward in uniting global efforts toward greener, more sustainable computing solutions.
